CEMETERY Restoration: 

As the Five Mile Creek History Committee inventories the historical resources of the watershed, they are finding cemeteries rich in history.  The Founder’s Cemetery in Brookside holds the grave of the first white child born in Jefferson County.  At the top the hill north of Cardiff, the Cardiff active cemetery has lost its caretaker and needs help gently removing mimosa and privet so that regular mowing can begin again.  We need experts in gentle removal of weeds that invade untended cemeteries.  Volunteers must be over 18 and have experience with power tools.
